As promised a drawing of some packing boxes. They are taking over, swallowing up the space, pushing us out of our old house into the new.

David reading. We are packing up the house but I keep getting distracted by sketchbooks. Work has gone out the window and I am starting to feel the emotional effects. I think I might take some time off and draw all our packing boxes as they are filling all the space around us. Everywhere you look.

Thinking about a mouse page in my new book so looking at others and this here is Beatrix Potter with her two bad mice. My problem with animals in books is that they look too animalistic as animals but too ridiculous with clothes. Beatrix Potter gets away with both.

Doodling whilst watching TV and trying to come up with ideas for another book. Clothes influenced by a BBC drama, nose influenced by an 18th century land owner.

Sometimes I do drawings that I find really quite disturbing and I wonder why I did them in the first place. These are two such drawings. I always start adding a bit of shading to try and make them more palatable but it never works. They may not disturb others I think it is just a personal thing. It is a strange feeling to create something you find repulsive. Having said that I sort of like them all at the same time.

A couple of images from my sketchbook. I am quite liking the combination of pencil line and coloured creatures. An interaction of two worlds.
